Hong Kong Declared Monuments II — Stamp Design Proposal
This project involved developing two design proposals for a six-stamp series commissioned under the theme Declared Monuments in Hong Kong II. The brief aimed to promote public awareness of Hong Kong’s architectural heritage by translating historically significant sites into a cohesive visual narrative across philatelic formats.
The work explored how small-scale printed artifacts can function as cultural storytelling devices. Each proposal approached the monuments through a structured visual system, balancing historical reference, legibility, and contemporary clarity while considering material production possibilities such as tactile print finishes and compositional continuity across the set.
Beyond individual stamp imagery, the design addressed the broader system including sheet layout, first day cover, and related philatelic applications, ensuring visual coherence across touchpoints.
This project reflects an interest in connecting heritage, communication, and visual systems within constrained and highly technical design frameworks.
