Hong Kong Declared Monuments II Stamp Design

A contemporary stamp series proposal for Hong Kong architectural heritage

Overview

This project was developed as a proposal for the Hong Kong Declared Monuments commemorative stamp series, exploring how contemporary visual language can present new perspectives on Hong Kong’s architectural heritage and cultural memory through philatelic design.

Design Concept

Moving away from traditional photo-based and classical commemorative stamp aesthetics, the design reinterprets historical architecture through a more contemporary and structured layout system tailored for small-format printed applications.

Two visual directions were developed, using color, compositional rhythm, and print-oriented details to establish a cohesive and recognizable visual language across stamps, first day covers, and related philatelic materials.
