CAFÉ BON BON Brand Identity
A contemporary café identity inspired by Taiwanese food and tea culture
Overview
Café Bon Bon is a contemporary café-restaurant combining fusion cuisine, coffee, and Taiwanese tea culture. The project focused on creating a cohesive brand experience for a new neighborhood destination in Canada.
Strategy
The brand identity was built around a minimal and contemporary visual system, using Western-inspired naming, packaging, and spatial language to reinterpret East-meets-West Chinese food culture within a modern neighborhood café setting — moving away from the conventional visual identity often associated with traditional Chinatown restaurants.
Gold accents inspired by Eastern symbolism were incorporated to preserve the cultural meaning of prosperity while elevating the refinement of the overall brand and product experience.
Concept
The visual identity was built around a modern and minimal design language, balancing refinement with approachability.
The name “Bon Bon” carries associations of goodness and pleasure in French. Inspired by this idea, the logo was developed using two overlapping “B” letterforms, creating a minimal visual mark that strengthens the brand’s recognizability.
